About Nameeqa
I am a university student who studied biology and chemistry at a A level. From studying these two subjects, I gained a passion for them which I believe I can pass on to my students. It may not be the subject which is difficult for them to understand but instead the teaching techniques may be what is stopping students from reaching the best of their capabilities. I have been tutoring for over a year and have experience with a range of students from primary students through to A level students. From most of my students I have found one to one tutoring allows them to open up about their topic weaknesses but also delve deeper into understanding a subject so they can answer questions to the best of their ability. Also I have mastered my teaching techniques as I have volunteered in schools and shadowed professional teachers to improve my own teaching skills. Hence I am able to adapt to the students learning techniques and teach in the manner best suitable to them!

My teaching approach involves strengthening the foundations of a students knowledge, by checking how well their knowledge is on a particular subject. I do this by questioning them and asking them to be open on what topics they struggle with. Once I have tackled their weaknesses by explaining the topics to them in a simplified manner using brown down mechanisms, acronyms and picture explanations, I tend to check their understanding using sub topic application questions and tests. To further make sure that they thoroughly understand, I also use active recall where I test them on the same topic a few days later or even in the next lesson. This is so that they have a strong foundation of the topic but also so the information is embedded within their long term memory!
