About Holly
Hello, my name is Holly and I am a 17 year old student from Sussex. I am currently in Year 13 and studying for my A level exams. My A level subjects are RS, English Literature, and Latin. I am passionate about classics and I am hoping to read this at university next year! My special areas of interest are ancient literature and ancient philosophy.
Recently, I sat my AS level Latin exam as practice for the A level. I achieved a grade A (you cannot get an A* at AS level), which I was very proud of!

I would teach you in terms of how you learn best, however, I try to make my lessons as engaging and active as possible so that the information is solidified for you. Practice translations would be a must for Latin language.
I have taught Latin students in the past, going back to my secondary school to help out with year 10 and 11 Latin lessons. I know how to teach students in a way that Latin does not become too complex and daunting for them, but rather so that it becomes simple and something do-able (and dare I say it, fun)!
Typically, I would offer 1 hour-long lessons, but if an extra half an hour was needed I would be happy to provide this! If an hour seems too long and taxing for a student, I would also happily drop down to half an hour or forty-five minutes too.
My lessons are for GCSE students studying the OCR specification who wants Latin LANGUAGE lessons. I would be able to offer language lessons to WJEC students too if needed, however my expertise in the defined vocabulary lists and grammar constructions required for the GCSE lies within the OCR spec. In terms of the literature component, I would not be able to offer specific advice as most schools study different texts to the ones I did. However, I could provide general advice for tackling some of the literature questions. If a student is studying the same set texts that I studied, I could also provide help with this (enquires about this would need to be made).
