About Patrick
I'm Patrick, and my path into tutoring started with a love of science that goes back to my own school days in Adelaide, where I finished Year 12 with a 95.95 ATAR, excelling in both Chemistry and Biology. That experience gave me a real appreciation for what Year 11 and 12 students are going through, and it's a big part of why I enjoy tutoring so much.
I am now three years into a five-year Science and Education double degree at the University of Adelaide, bringing both strong subject knowledge and a developing foundation in education theory to every session. I understand the pressures of senior school first hand and am committed to helping students work through SACE Chemistry with clarity and confidence.
Over the course of tutoring more than 40 students, I have built a reputation for being friendly, patient and calm under pressure. I believe that a supportive and relaxed environment is just as important as good content knowledge when it comes to helping students learn and grow.
Outside of my studies, I am a former national level competitive swimmer and currently train in taekwondo. I also enjoy the gym, learning guitar, and unwinding with video games. Having varied interests outside of academia helps me connect with students of all kinds and keeps me energised as a tutor.

SACE Chemistry has a reputation for being one of the toughest subjects on the curriculum, and for good reason. I'm Patrick, a Science and Education student at the University of Adelaide, and after tutoring over 40 students across Chemistry and Biology, I've developed a clear picture of what it takes to help students turn that difficulty into results. My chemistry students have achieved some great results, including jumps from C- to B and B to A, progress that comes from building genuine understanding of the concepts rather than just memorising content.
My lessons are one hour long and fully tailored to each student's needs. I focus primarily on building strong conceptual foundations, so that everything else from assessments to exams becomes much more manageable. I adapt my approach to suit each student's learning style and use clear visual aids and diagrams to make challenging chemistry concepts easier to grasp.
My lessons are ideal for Stage 1 and 2 SACE Chemistry students across South Australia, delivered conveniently online so there is no travel required.

Patrick makes a great teacher because he is patient, and understanding with his students. When he tutored me, I didn't understand how fractions worked, but he helped me figure out where I was going wrong, and thought of a way to explain it so I can understand. Overall, a great recommendation.
