About Mahek
As a second-year Aerospace Engineering student, I bring a strong, practical background in advanced mathematics and physics. My degree relies heavily on high-level mathematical concepts every day, giving me a deep understanding of how GCSE Further Maths connects to real-world applications and future STEM subjects.
Beyond engineering, I am an active musician playing the saxophone, piano, drums, and guitar. Learning and playing music at a high level requires discipline, patience, and attention to detail—the exact same qualities I bring to my teaching.
Having achieved a Grade 8 in my own GCSE Maths, I know firsthand what it takes to excel in the current curriculum. I aim to create an encouraging, structured environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working through challenging material, and building genuine confidence in their problem-solving abilities. My goal is not just to help students pass their exams, but to help them truly master the subject and feel prepared for their next steps.

My approach focuses on breaking down complex mathematical concepts into clear, manageable steps so students feel confident tackling even the toughest exam questions. Having achieved a Grade 8 at GCSE, I understand the current exam board formats, mark schemes, and exact problem-solving strategies required to score top marks in GCSE Further Maths.
Lessons are tailored specifically for GCSE students aiming to strengthen their understanding, boost their grades, or master advanced topics. A typical session lasts 30 to 45 minutes, which is the ideal duration to maintain high focus, work through target concepts, and complete exam-style practice without cognitive fatigue.
My teaching methodology centres on active learning:
Concept Breakdown: We start by reviewing core formulae and theory using real examples.
Guided Practice: We work through step-by-step problem sets together to build confidence and identify sticking points.
Independent Application & Exam Technique: The student solves exam-style questions independently while learning key mark-scheme shortcuts, time-management habits, and common trap avoidance.
