About Delisha
My name is Delisha, and I am a first-year BA International Relations student at Queen Mary, University of London. I have a strong academic background in English Literature and Politics, with a particular passion for helping students build confidence, clarity, and strong exam technique in these subjects.
I understand that English and Politics can feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to essay writing, analysis, and evaluation. Having recently completed A-Levels myself, I am very familiar with current exam specifications, mark schemes, and examiner expectations, allowing me to support students in a clear, relevant, and practical way.
I am patient, organised, and highly committed to my students’ progress. I take a professional approach to tutoring, ensuring lessons are well-structured, focused, and tailored to each student’s needs. My aim is not only to improve grades, but to help students feel more confident in their abilities and develop skills that will support them throughout their education.
I work well with students of different abilities and learning styles, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

My approach to tutoring is structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual learning style. I focus on building both subject confidence and exam technique, ensuring students not only understand the content but also know how to apply it effectively in assessments.
For English, I prioritise close text analysis, clear essay structure, and developing strong arguments. I help students move beyond basic explanations by teaching them how to analyse language, form interpretations, and write with clarity and precision.
For Politics, I break down complex theories and current affairs into simple, understandable ideas, helping students build strong evaluation skills and link theory to real-world examples.
Lessons are interactive and student-led, with regular questioning, guided practice, and clear explanations. I adapt my teaching pace to the student and provide personalised feedback, model answers, and exam-focused strategies.

I am currently a first-year BA International Relations student at Queen Mary, University of London, with a strong academic background in English Literature and Politics. I achieved an A* in English Literature at A-Level and have extensive experience supporting peers with essay writing, exam preparation, and content understanding.
