About Mary jane

Hi! I'm MJ, and I'm fascinated by how the human brain and mind work—especially when it comes to neuroscience, psychology, and medicine. I'm deeply passionate about pedagogy and the science of learning, which means I don't just teach content; I focus on how to learn effectively. My ultimate goal is to help every student build the rock-solid confidence they need to thrive throughout their academic journey.

I keep my tutoring sessions engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student's pace, making sure the challenge feels exciting rather than overwhelming. Learning complex subjects should feel like a fascinating exploration, not a chore!

About the lesson

Looking to boost your child’s grades, confidence, and real-world communication skills? I offer structured, high-impact English tutoring designed to help students excel in school and beyond. All lessons are strictly conducted online over the course of an hour, ensuring a focused and convenient learning environment. To keep learning organized and parents informed, I set up a dedicated Google Classroom for every student to track progress, and I handle all professional communication outside of class through my business email.

Every 60-minute session follows a proven, structured progression to maximize retention and ensure no gaps in knowledge. We start by reviewing the previous class's topic and homework, followed by a targeted revision of the prior lesson's content so it sticks long-term. Next, I introduce a brand-new topic and immediately move into consolidation, practicing the fresh concepts together with guided support. Finally, I assign specific homework for the student to complete independently before our next lesson.

My teaching methodology goes far beyond rote memorization to focus heavily on practical skill-building. While I ensure students develop the vital language skills needed to ace their schooling, I also bring English to life through engaging, real-world events. Students build critical thinking and confidence through interactive debates and master exam techniques through targeted NAPLAN workshops, giving them the tools to thrive both in the classroom and the real world.
