About Ruby
My name's Ruby and I'm excited about the possibility of working with younger students. As a recent GCSE high-achiever and now a second-year uni student, I remember exactly what it's like to be in your position. I'm passionate about teaching because I genuinely enjoy helping others understand complex concepts and see that moment where they start to learn and understand it beyond what is expected by the curriculum. I believe everyone has the potential to excel with the right guidance and support. My goal is to make learning engaging, understandable, and even fun.

When I tutor, I always start things off by sharing my own GCSE experiences – the stress, the late nights, and how I managed to gain those top grades. It really helps students see me as someone who gets what they're going through. I then go into figuring out how they learn best, whether it's through diagrams, flashcards, or practice questions, and alter my teaching to fit them perfectly. The goal is to make sure they really understand the core concepts, not just memorise facts. I push them to ask "why" and "how" so they can tackle any question that comes their way.
