About Anna

Hello all!
If you have a child who is struggling with elementary reading skills, I would LOVE to work with them. I am confident that over just the first six lessons, you will see a significant difference in your child's reading.
My name is Anna, and I've worked as a resource special education teacher for 3 years, and have been in the field of education for 5 years. I have particular experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Specific Learning Disabilities including Dyslexia, and I am passionate about helping kids learn to read!

About the lesson

The first two lessons are completely FREE, and are 45 minutes long. During the first session, I will assess your child, and we'll build a relationship. During the second session, you will get to see a typical reading session from start to finish, and can then make a decision about whether you think the tutoring sessions will be a good fit for your child and you. At this time, I will also give you some thoughts and ideas for how you can best support your child's reading progress.
My sessions are typically 45 minutes long, (but I am flexible where necessary), and I use an Orton-Gillingham accredited reading curriculum to target specific areas of need, and to build overall reading skills.
This lesson structure will be most effective for students ages 4-10.
*If your child has (or needs) a 504 form or an IEP in the state of Utah, I am happy to talk you through what I know of that process from the perspective of a former special education teacher.
