About Emily
Hey! I'm Emily. I graduated summa cum laude, in cursu honorum from Tennessee Tech in 2017 with a BS in biochemistry. I then transitioned into the graduate program and graduated two years later with an MS in chemistry (can you tell I LOVE chemistry?) During my graduate work I discovered I also loved teaching chemistry and began work on an EdS (a graduate degree in education). I spent two years teaching general chemistry, organic chemistry, quantitative chemistry, and analytical chemistry labs at Tech and am now a full time high school chemistry teacher.

I provide virtual tutoring sessions for high school and college students. I have taught at the college level in the past and am currently a high school chemistry teacher. I believe in helping students learn chemistry at the conceptual level. Memorization is not an effective strategy for such a complex subject, and my goal is to teach you the WHY behind problems to give you the skills needed to reason your way through any problem. In our tutoring sessions, I will spend a bit of time to understand your chemistry background and where you are in your chemistry journey. I will then help fill in the gaps so you can gain a better understanding of the subject.
