My lessons are targeted primarily towards elementary, middle, and high school students. My goal is to provide low pressure, enjoyable, educational, and fast-paced lessons for optimal growth/learning. Included below are the typical lesson plans and structure of my courses.
Grammar:
(Elementary School)
Basic parts of speech and punctuation-> additional parts of speech, basic verb tenses, and basic sentence structure
(Middle School)
phrases/clauses, sentence types (structural and tonal), diagramming, prepositions, advanced punctuation, advanced capitalization, and correct word choice (ex: affect or effect)
(High School)
targeted review and mastery of the categories of your choice
Spelling:
(Elementary School)
foundational phonics rules, consonants, vowels, consonant blending and digraphs (ex: “br” and “ch”), and silent letters-> vowel groups, suffixes, homophones, prefixes, and plurals
(Middle School)
advanced silent letters, word roots/origin (Greek or Latin), vocabulary, hard or soft letters
(High School)
common spelling mistakes, correct word choice, proofreading, etymology, foreign loanwords, difficult spelling rules, and advanced vocabulary
Writing:

complete sentences, handwriting, and narrative-> paragraphs, essay genres, word choice, and writing process
(Middle School)
essay writing, revision, transitions, evidence, thesis writing
(High School)
long essays, researching, synthesis, voice, analysis, and timed writing
