About Aimee

With 19 years of experience as a mathematics teacher, I bring extensive classroom experience and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. I hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics and am a state-certified secondary mathematics teacher.

I specialize in working with high school students in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Calculus. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students with a wide range of abilities and learning styles, and I understand that there is no single approach that works for every student.

My tutoring sessions are professional, supportive, and personalized. I focus on breaking complex mathematical concepts into understandable steps while helping students develop the problem-solving skills and confidence they need to work independently.

Whether your student is struggling with a difficult concept, preparing for an upcoming test, or looking to strengthen and advance their mathematical skills, I am committed to meeting them where they are and helping them reach their goals.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor

As an experienced mathematics teacher of 19 years, I understand both the content and the challenges students face in the classroom. I bring a teacher's perspective to tutoring, allowing me to identify misconceptions, explain difficult concepts in different ways, and adjust instruction when a student is struggling.

I believe that every student can improve in mathematics with the right support and approach. My goal is to create a positive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I use mistakes as learning opportunities and help students develop the confidence and problem-solving strategies they need to become more independent learners.

Rather than simply helping students find the answer, I focus on helping them understand the process so they can apply what they have learned to new and unfamiliar problems.

My lessons are designed specifically for high school mathematics students, including students taking:

Algebra 1 – equations, functions, inequalities, systems, polynomials, and foundational algebraic skills
Geometry – geometric reasoning, proofs, congruence, similarity, trigonometry, circles, area, and volume
Algebra 2 – advanced functions, polynomials, rational expressions, exponential and logarithmic functions, sequences, and probability
Calculus – limits, derivatives, applications of derivatives, integrals, applications of integration, and related concepts

I work with students who may be struggling with a particular topic, preparing for a test or exam, looking to improve their grades, or simply wanting to strengthen their mathematical skills.

Each lesson is tailored to the student's current level and goals. My objective is to make challenging mathematics clear, understandable, and manageable while helping students develop the confidence to solve problems on their own.
