About Sage
I’ve taught high school math for over two years and taught introductory courses in philosophy at the university level. I love the work of scaling explanations to suit the needs and interests of a diverse population of students. I have taught in settings as diverse as co-teaching classes, public charters, private day schools, juvenile detention, and an R1 public university.
Full-time high school math teacher and PhD student in Philosophy (University of Pittsburgh). BA in Philosophy, Linguistics minor from Swarthmore College (2022).

Math is a highly teachable subject. My approach is to make foundational interventions in students’ understanding of mathematical content via the compositional structure of mathematical statements, truth-preserving procedures, graphical representations, and number sense. Math, properly taught, is one of the most confidence-building subjects—giving students confidence to trust sense of abstract structure and creative problem-solving.
