About Maia

Hey, I'm Maia (they/them)! I'm in the final year of my Computer Science degree and am working towards being a game developer. I have several years' worth of tutoring experience, including working for two different tutoring companies, as well as tutoring my peers in middle and high school.

Are you neurodivergent? Me too! We can make whatever accommodations you need: whether it's more frequent but shorter sessions, relating topics to a special interest, or anything else that will help you succeed.

With the current state of the world, I feel it's important to include that ALL students will be treated with equal respect and care. 2SLGBTQIA+ students are safe with me.

Hey! I'm in the last semester of my Computer Science degree, and one thing I've learned throughout my degree is the difference between having knowledge and having the skills to share it. If you're tired of working with teachers who seem to know everything about physics other than how to teach it, I'd love to give you the support you're looking for! No question is a stupid question.

My teaching style is very relaxed. Bring along whatever homework, test prep, or lesson you're struggling with, and we'll work together to change it from something intimidating to something manageable! If you have a specific topic you'd like to cover, you can let me know in advance, and I'll prepare some practice materials for us to work on. Lessons will be over zoom. If you have a different platform that you prefer to use, let me know and I'll consider using that instead. We can decide together what the best lesson length for you will be. My rate is $35 per hour.

I accept any high school students in Canada. Examples of the topics I can help with:
- kinematics
- forces and free-body diagrams
- energy and power
- waves
- electric circuits and fields
- gravitational fields and dynamics
- impulse and momentum
- word problems
