About Varenya

Hi, my name's Varenya! I am a high schooler and I'm happy to be flexible with timings and work with you and your student to find a timing that works for everyone. As a high school student tutoring Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Precalculus, I like to keep things straightforward and digestible. What makes my tutoring style unique is that I understand what it’s like to be a student, so I try to make math less intimidating and more approachable.

- Advanced Knowledge: Currently enrolled in the advanced math track and taking AP Calculus BC, ensuring a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
- Conceptual Focus: Emphasize understanding concepts rather than just memorizing formulas, breaking down complex problems into manageable steps.
- Real-Life Examples: Use real-life examples to make abstract concepts more relatable and less intimidating.
- Student Perspective: Leverage personal experience as a student to make math approachable and reduce anxiety.
- Comprehensive Lessons: Structure lessons to include review, introduction of new material, guided practice, and independent problem-solving, catering to both basic and advanced needs.

- Wrap-Up: Q&A session, quick quiz or exit ticket for assessment, and a preview of the next topic.
