About Jessica

Hello! My name is Jessica Yu, and I’m here to support you on your math journey. I know firsthand that math can feel challenging or intimidating, but there’s absolutely no reason to feel discouraged. Think of me as your guide; I’m here to help you understand difficult concepts, build your confidence, and find the right approach for you!

With several years of experience teaching students of all ages and capabilities, I understand that everyone learns differently. Therefore, I strive to create a welcoming and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. My goal is not only to help you improve your grades, but also to help you develop the confidence and problem-solving skills to tackle math independently.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is supportive, patient, and personalized to each student’s goals and learning style. I focus on helping students understand reasoning behind concepts rather than simply memorizing formulas/steps. I break down challenging problems into smaller, manageable parts and use clear explanations and examples to build confidence.

What sets me apart is my ability to explain difficult concepts in a simple and approachable way. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as these are important parts of the learning process. My lessons are suitable for students of various ages and skill levels, from elementary and middle school to high school, including those preparing for tests and exams.
