About Riyan

I'm someone who's fresh out of school, and I've basically had to do everything myself. I've had no tutoring support, and I've realized most of the techniques used by current educators are more tailored to different times and exam formats. I still have all the resources I used and created with me, and they're all still applicable, so I decided to try and use them to help. I want to keep my classes more interesting, and less strict. I've found most of my best learning happens when I'm in a comfortable environment, and am intrigued by the material instead of just being told "you're supposed to learn". I think every question deserves an answer, and learning to think and try is just as important as the actual information. I recognize I don't have the answers to every question, but I'm always willing to find them and learn along the way, and that's the philosophy I want to teach.

About the lesson

The focus of the lessons

Interactive learning which focuses on understanding the concepts and then applying that knowledge to real questions taken from official sources. As a student, I had to learn everything myself, and I want to help others skip the struggles I went through. As someone who's fresh out of learning, I've noted the learning techniques which worked best for me, remembered the order of learning which helped me most, and the struggles of my peers, and the way I helped them circumvent them. I understand it's impossible to learn unless you're interested, that's why my classes want to teach through engagement instead of passivity.

My qualifications and achievements:

5A* at IGCSE (World topper in English as a second language)
3A at AS-level
3A* predicted at A2
790 on the SAT Math on my second attempt (private student)
35 In ACT Math and 36 in ACT Science on my first attempt (private student)
Valedictorian of IGCSE and A2 class
Experience teaching AS classes in school and SAT Math for Schoolhouse.world

Riyan and I met at a library and bonded over "As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow."

I thought Riyan was a very flexible and fun teacher to be taught by. He helped me understand topics I was previously struggling with. He was really fun to be with, and we did math and also read the book "As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow."

He helped me make a turn-based TTRPG with the lore using his wonderful wisdom.
