About Gaurav

I am a motivated student currently studying A-level maths, further maths, economics and psychology, aspiring to study economics at The London School of Economics (LSE). I have always dreamed to study in a top Russell Group university and to get my degree, and masters so I can work at the top investment banking firms. I have also been chosen and accompanied with a select few other students from my sixth form to represent the school in the year 12 UKMT maths challenge due to being part of the top percentile of maths students.

About the lesson

My name is Gaurav and I am only 16 years old. I may be extremely young but don't worry I can share a lot of knowledge in the beautiful world of maths. I have been immensely intrigued by the subject since year 7 although I was never really good at it but due to the help of tutoring I became a top student and part of the top 10-21% of students in the country based on this year's GCSE results. I enjoy teaching GCSE maths greatly and I managed to assist my friends achieve the grades they have today. I now study A-levels and I am predicted 2 A* and 2 A in maths, further maths, economics and psychology. Firstly, we attempt basic problem-solving questions (step by step) on a given topic as a model answer. Then, I give the student a similar question to attempt and see how they apply their knowledge using the methodology from previous questions. After they gain consistency, we push up our bar and aim to solve harder questions on the same topic and we proceed to use the same method of learning. When we finish each unit/topic, we move to another topic and after a week's time I give the student a topic test to see how much they have remembered and to see what we have to revisit after the whole module is finished. My lessons tend to vary between an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes, although I am very flexible and can teach for more hours consecutively if informed in advance.
