About Catherine
Whether its piano or vocal lessons you’re taking, my priority is to provide inspiring tuition to develop your enjoyment and appreciation of music. As a highly qualified and experienced teacher I provide lessons which are carefully, logically structured. I have a first class honours music degree as well as a diploma in teaching. I teach piano on a John Broadwood grand piano and each lesson includes full feedback on progress and advice on all aspects of music study.
For those students who wish to do so, you can be entered for ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall or Rock School graded exams. In 20 years of teaching, my students have an excellent pass rate from grades 1-8 and diplomas.

I have a wealth of piano and vocal teaching experience, working with students of all ages and abilities, from the raw beginner to the advanced diploma student. I am experienced in teaching students with specific needs such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and visual / hearing impairment.
As a singer I specialise in Classical, Musical Theatre and Pop styles drawing largely on the Estill system. In piano I teach Classical and Pop. I have an excellent pass rate in entering my students for graded exams with well over 100 successes to date. Many of my students perform regularly at concerts and festivals. More importantly though, all my students thoroughly enjoy their lessons.
My teaching career has included tutoring at the Leeds College of Music and at Access to Music. I was recently interviewed about my work at the college by Pianist Magazine. I have also designed and delivered music workshops for children exploiting the numerous beneficial effects of music exploration on the child’s educational and social development. Whilst volunteering in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco and in Kathmandu, Nepal over the last few years, l’ve been delighted to hold music workshops with the local children, promoting the use of song and movement to aid learning and team work.
