About Euen

Hello! My name is Euen, and I am a current undergraduate studying ASNC at the University of Cambridge. I have a deep passion for the Humanities and believe that good tutoring can help both confident students and those who might find these subjects daunting in achieving the highest possible grades.
I tutor History at GCSE and A-Level because not only do I find the subject endlessly interesting, but I know that at Secondary and A-Level stages, it can feel more like a chore and checklist of information.
I believe that tutoring can help move away from the limitations of History in a classroom as I will build a less stressful environment for students to think through historical problems and historical skills at their own pace, and find themselves equipped with the writing and revision skills they need to succeed in class and in exams.

About the lesson

As someone studying in a History-related field at University, I understand how GCSE and A-Level History can be quite a challenge due to the overwhelming amount of content and demand for high-level, sustained essays.
The best way to succeed at Secondary and A-Level History is through exam skill, and as such, lessons will be tailored around targeting an individual student's essay-writing skills and building their wider revision around this. Once you've cracked the code on how to write one essay, you can write them all!
Additionally, lessons will be aimed at "chunking" knowledge and revision together into groups of information, making remembering these for exams far easier. Simply talking through different facts and linking them through cause and effect is a technique applicable to any level of education but will make students feel far less pressure during long-term revision.
