About Tara
I am a student at Leeds Beckett University. Being a student has well equipped me to time manage and ensure that I can balance studies and employment.
I have been tutoring for a charity called The Tutor Trust for over a year, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. This role has involved going into schools and helping Primary school children with their work, leading up to their SATs. Over the Covid-19 lockdown, I was also grateful to be chosen for an online tuition scheme for The Tutor Trust, in which I learnt how to adapt my role as a tutor online. I am now looking to extend my skills further to those who need that extra push to achieve their academic goals.

As an individual, I am very aware of how important extra tuition time can be in helping any student progress. Therefore, I have always aimed to look at each of my students and their abilities individually, locating resources that target what they need to improve on. I strive to create engaging and useful content. I pride myself on asking my students what they would like to focus on more, but also match this up with data from school exams and assessments we do together. I always start my lessons with objectives, then move on to a starter (based on something we did in the previous lesson) and then will focus on the main topic, before we finish with a reflection at the end. I am familiar with the online tutoring platform Bramble, but I am easily adaptable to other platforms and means of online tuition.
