About Me
I am an experienced Humanities teacher at St Peter’s College, specializing in History and teaching both Cambridge and NCEA. I have a genuine passion for helping students understand the past, think critically and develop the confidence to express their ideas clearly and effectively.
I became a teacher because I believe that every student is capable of making significant progress when they are given the right guidance, clear explanations and individual support. My goal is not simply to help students memorize information, but to teach them how to think, analyze, construct arguments and succeed independently.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Auckland, I combine academic knowledge with extensive practical classroom experience of 14 years. I understand the demands of Cambridge and NCEA assessments and know how to turn complex topics into clear, manageable and engaging lessons.
I particularly enjoy working with students who may lack confidence or feel that Humanities subjects are difficult. Seeing a student move from uncertainty to understanding—and then begin achieving results they previously thought were beyond them—is one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching.
My approach is professional, supportive and results-driven, while ensuring that lessons remain engaging and enjoyable. I want students to leave each lesson feeling that they have learned something valuable, understand what they need to do next, and are increasingly confident in their own abilities.
My aim is simple: to help every student reach their potential and become a more confident, capable and successful learner.

Expert, Personalized Tutoring for Cambridge & NCEA Students
My tutoring is designed for students who want more than simply completing homework or revising content. I provide structured, individualized, and results-driven tuition designed to develop both academic ability and confidence.
As an experienced St Peter’s College Humanities teacher, specializing in History, I bring current classroom experience and a detailed understanding of Cambridge and NCEA assessment requirements directly into each lesson.
Every student is different, so lessons are carefully tailored to their current level, strengths, areas for improvement and academic goals. Lessons typically run for two hours per week, providing sufficient time to build knowledge, practice skills and consolidate learning.
Lessons combine:
Purpose-built presentations to introduce and explain key concepts
Carefully selected readings and historical sources
Guided discussion and questioning to develop deeper understanding
Exam-style questions and assessment practice
Individual feedback on written work
Explicit instruction in essay structure, analysis and argument
Targeted strategies to address specific weaknesses
Ongoing review to monitor progress and build confidence
My approach is deliberately results-focused: students learn not only what they need to know, but how to use that knowledge effectively in examinations and assessments.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Auckland, alongside extensive experience teaching Humanities at St Peter’s College.
