About Javinda

Javinda Wickramasinghe is a dedicated Science Teacher with 9 years of experience, based in Battaramulla. He has a proven track record of engaging students through hands-on lessons, with a strong focus on student achievement.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, Colombo, completed in February 2015. His core skills include lesson planning and curriculum development, strong subject knowledge, laboratory skills with safety and equipment handling, use of educational technology, classroom management, life science, and English fluency.
Since 2024, he has worked at Horizon College International, where he teaches Integrated Science to Grade 9 students, building foundational scientific literacy and inquiry skills, and teaches Chemistry at Advanced Level, preparing students for external examinations through structured lesson planning, practical labs, and exam-focused revision. He also serves as Grade Coordinator for Year 9, overseeing academic progress, coordinating with subject teachers, and acting as the primary point of contact for student welfare and administrative matters.

From 2018 to 2024, he worked at Royal Institute International School, where he delivered science lessons aligned with the national curriculum for upper grade levels. He served as Class Teacher, managing homeroom responsibilities and monitoring student progress, and held the position of Head of Prefects, leading the student prefect body. He also served as House Manager for Sheffield House, coordinating student participation in the school sports meet, and was a member of the Disciplinary Committee, contributing to student conduct and discipline management.

About the lesson

I have strong skills in lesson planning and curriculum development, backed by solid subject knowledge in life science. I am proficient in the use of educational technology, and I bring hands-on laboratory experience, including safety procedures and equipment handling. I am also fluent in English.
