About Maddox

I am a high school student at Cobb Innovation and Technical Academy who holds certifications in Surgical Technology and CPR. I am also a current State Champion in Georgia HOSA!! I enjoy watching people grow and achieve levels higher than they believe they can reach.

I started tutoring because I plan on becoming a teacher and majoring in Education, and I see this as my first step in proactively building my future career. I believe students’ individual comprehension of topics in school is often not prioritized due to the large amount of content that must be covered, which can lead to gaps in foundational understanding needed in higher grades.

To address this, I focus on providing more personal and patient support. My goal is to help students fully understand basic math, reading, and writing skills by adapting to their individual learning needs and giving them the time and guidance they need to grow in confidence and ability.

About the lesson

I focus on tailoring my teaching to each individual student because every learner has different strengths, challenges, and learning styles. My goal is to help students truly understand the material in a way that makes sense to them while also building confidence and independence.

My teaching method is flexible and student-centered. I break down concepts into simple steps, adjust explanations based on how the student learns best such as visual, step-by-step, or example-based, and encourage active participation. I often revisit topics in different ways until they are fully understood.

A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in, followed by a review of previous material, focused help on current topics, guided practice, and ends with a short recap and goals for next time.

What sets me apart is my personalized approach. I do not teach every student the same way. I adapt to each learner and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

My lessons are for elementary students (K to 5) who need help with math, reading, writing, or general homework support, especially those who benefit from patient and individualized instruction.
