About Alexandra

Hello! My name is Alex (she/her), and I'm a registered nurse with over 5 years of experience in rural emergency and intensive care. I graduated from Lakehead University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2021 and have since built my career caring for patients in fast-paced, high-acuity settings.

I'm currently a medical student and have successfully strengthened my knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinical reasoning.

Teaching has always been something I enjoy. Throughout my nursing career, I've had the opportunity to mentor nursing students, support new graduate nurses, and help colleagues build confidence in clinical decision-making. I understand that learning can feel overwhelming, especially when preparing for anatomy exams, OSCEs, or nursing assessments. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenging concepts.

Rather than focusing on memorization alone, I emphasize understanding, critical thinking, and applying knowledge for real clinical situations. I believe this approach not only improves exam performance but also builds confidence that carries into clinical placements and future practice.

Whether you're looking for help with nursing courses, OSCE preparation, clinical reasoning, or undergraduate anatomy, I'd be happy to help you achieve your goals.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, so I tailor each session to their goals, whether they're preparing for an OSCE, a nursing exam, or an undergraduate anatomy course.

For nursing students, I focus on developing clinical reasoning rather than memorization. We'll work through NCLEX-style and course-specific multiple-choice questions together, discussing not only the correct answer, but also why the other options are less appropriate. My goal is to help you think like a nurse and build confidence in decision-making.

For OSCE preparation, I use realistic patient scenarios and have you work through a comprehensive assessment, prioritization, communication, and management plan. I provide structured feedback throughout the session and highlight key moments where critical thinking, patient safety, and organization can improve your performance. These sessions are designed to help you feel confident and prepared on exam day.

For anatomy, I focus on understanding concepts rather than rote memorization. I'll help you develop effective study strategies using active recall, spaced repetition, diagrams, clinical applications, and other evidence-based learning techniques so you can retain information long after the exam.

What sets me apart is my combination of over five years of experience as an ICU and emergency registered nurse together with my current medical training. I have extensive experience applying clinical reasoning in high-acuity settings and have successfully navigated OSCEs and advanced anatomy in medical school. My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building lasting confidence.

I welcome undergraduate nursing students seeking support with nursing courses, clinical reasoning, NCLEX-style questions, and OSCE preparation, as well as students taking undergraduate anatomy and physiology courses.
