About Ansh

Hi, I'm Ansh, a recent graduate of Tiffin School and a current undergraduate studying Design Engineering at Imperial College London. My passion for STEM subjects has driven me to achieve the highest academic results. I secured four A* at A-Level in Edexcel Maths, Further Maths, Design & Technology and AQA Physics. This was built on a strong foundation at GCSE, where I achieved 6 grade 9s, including in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Computer Science, and D&T. Having successfully navigated the university application process, I received offers from Cambridge, UCL, Bristol, and Bath alongside my place at Imperial. This experience has given me a deep understanding of what top institutions look for and the level of academic rigour required. Beyond my studies, I actively apply my skills in national engineering competitions, including the UK Rocketry Challenge (UKROC) and combat robotics. This hands-on experience reinforces my theoretical knowledge and I enjoy bringing these practical insights into my lessons. As a tutor, my goal is to share the strategies and deep understanding that enabled my own success to help you achieve yours.

About the lesson

My philosophy is built on clarity and first principles. Rote learning might get you through a small test, but it crumbles under the pressure of GCSE and A-Level exams. We'll move beyond simply "what" the answer is and focus on the "why" and "how". We start by breaking down complex topics into simple, manageable building blocks. For example, in Physics, we won't just learn the formula F=ma; we'll explore the fundamental concepts of inertia and acceleration to understand why it works. Your learning style is unique. We'll frequently work through problems together in real-time. We will identify your specific areas of difficulty and tailor each lesson's content to fill those gaps. Understanding the subject is only half the battle. We will dedicate significant time to mastering exam technique, including time management, interpreting questions correctly, and structuring answers to gain maximum marks. We'll work through past papers and learn to recognise patterns in questions. Lessons are structured to be productive and engaging. The typical length of a lesson is 60 minutes, which allows us to cover a topic in depth without losing focus. Whether you are aiming for a Grade 9, trying to build confidence after a disappointing mock result, or pushing for an A* to meet a university offer, I can provide the support and expert guidance you need to reach your goals.
