About Lara

I want to help students achieve their goals, and this is done by building confidence in their understanding of maths and physics. Every student is different, and I ensure that each lesson is tailored to meet their needs. Whether you are struggling with a particular topic, preparing for exams, or looking to challenge yourself and achieve a higher grade, I aim to create a supportive environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

About the lesson

I adapt each lesson to the student’s individual strengths, weaknesses and learning style. I aim to make difficult concepts easier to understand by breaking them down into clear, manageable steps and using worked examples before encouraging the student to tackle problems independently.

Understanding the underlying concepts is incredibly fundamental, and I emphasise the importance of this rather than simply memorising formulae. I use a combination of explanation, guided practice and exam-style questions, helping students develop both their confidence and problem-solving skills. I also encourage students to explain their reasoning, as this helps identify areas where they may need further support. For exam preparation, I focus on past-paper questions, common mistakes and effective exam technique.

Lessons typically last one hour, although this can be adjusted to the student's goals.

I am currently studying Physics at Imperial College London, and have a strong background in both Maths and Physics. I have experience supporting and tutoring students and enjoy explaining challenging topics in a clear and approachable way. My academic experience means I am particularly familiar with the demands of GCSE and A-Level courses and the importance of developing strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.

My lessons are aimed primarily at GCSE and A-Level students studying Maths, Further Maths and Physics. I am happy to work with students who want to strengthen their understanding of particular topics, prepare for upcoming exams, improve their confidence, or work towards achieving higher grades.
