About Johan
Well, for starters my name is Johan. I'm from New Zealand and currently study engineering in the UK.
During my high school years in Seychelles, I did a bit of volunteering at the local orphanages. My main interests were really constituted of tutoring the kids there. At school, I was never one for studying a lot. I always tried to find the most effective way of getting the grades I needed, and for me, I think it was really gratifying to see that those same methods were able to help the kids out too.
As the first kid in the country to take the SATs, there was a huge learning curve in a very short 2-week time span to understand the tests. It would honestly be great to pass on some of that!

My lessons are usually something along the lines of going through a past paper or question sheets. A normal lesson would really just involve going through the paper and seeing how the student grapples with the question.
I'd like to stress that I'm here to help with the Math section and advise on the overall application process.
I like to be direct, let the student learn the most efficient method, and let them practice it. Particularly at GCSE and A-levels, I have found this method to be most effective. For students applying outside of the UK, I also can give tutoring for SATS, IB, and US-uni applications. I track all my student's progress and give feedback as well as optional reports for the guardians. I've been teaching students for about 5 years, getting 4 of them into their top uni choices. (UCL, Uni of Toronto, Glasgow, Berkeley)
