About Rachel
I love music and it has been my entire life. I started choir when I was in 4-5th grade and really found my voice when I was in 6th grade thanks to my music teacher. I continued on in middle school, going to solo and ensemble winning medals and ribbons, moving into high school and doing the same thing only improving on the way. I really had to be open to constructive criticism because my voice was constantly changing and I was consistently adapting to my surroundings. I can admit I definitely was always nervous no matter what but that’s okay, I was still doing something I loved every day. As I headed into college I kept my singing career going but I unfortunately realized I had a medical condition that prevented me from playing piano due to it affecting my joints, and I couldn’t continue in as a Vocal music major since piano is required for the degree but I didn’t let it stop me from continuing down an educational pathway. I switched to Elementary Education instead of Music Education because I love kids and I still can enjoy teaching even if I can’t play the piano. My hopes are to help those in need of help here, a safe space to learn without judgement and without having to feel nervous. Nerves are a part of the process and that’s okay! I can help with the basics of music reading, scales and what not, tricks and tips if you’re having trouble remembering where sharps and flats are because I remember how much I had trouble until I worked on my Little tricks. I am a soprano one so if you need help hitting some high notes I can help with tricks on healthy singing as well or even if you need a confidence boost I’m here as well! I love music and I want this to be a safe space for anyone who needs help!
