About Sooho

As a 2020 graduate, I am the 1st year to go through the new maths syllabus. With this experience and knowledge, I am able to cater to students very well as I have undergone similar obstacles and can offer solutions and strategies that I used to overcome these problems. These new changes in the syllabus are quite significant and having a tutor who has had first hand experience is crucial in giving you or your child the best preparation.

I am also an outgoing and friendly individual and can assure that you or your child will feel comfortable during lessons and will be able to freely ask as many questions without feeling embarrassed or shy. This is also why I believe one-on-one personalised tutoring is very important as students often do not completely understand concepts during tuition centre classes, but hesitate to ask the teacher for help. Unlike overpriced and unnecessarily long lessons at tuition centres, I believe I can provide an individualised and efficient experience that structures around the student’s strengths and weaknesses to allow for the greatest improvements and results.

In addition to lessons, I am always willing to answer any questions or provide help outside of class hours via text messages. I will also be sending additional resources and provide homework help. If need be, I can also create term/year plans based on the new syllabus and the student’s ability that will give them a clear guide and path into their future studies. This plan would include what topics to complete, what questions or chapters to do from textbooks and when to complete them.

During my high school career, I attended many different tutoring companies such as Dr. Du, NGO & SONS and Edu Kingdom. Because of this, I am familiar with many different types and styles of questions, and also have these resources at hand to provide to students. By encountering many different styles of questions, I believe the student will improve drastically and be comfortable with any question their exams may give.

About the lesson

I always aim to build a very strong fundamental base first before progressing forward with harder concepts, as without strong fundamentals, the student will have many gaps in their knowledge and find it difficult later on.

Typical lesson lengths are 2 hours - I found this length to be the most effective amongst students to get through all the content and consolidate understanding.

I have taught many students as a maths tutor since 2019, with all improving ranks and some gaining full marks in exams.

I am catered to all years K-12, but especially year 10 and 11.
