About Ava

My guitar teaching approach is all about building solid skills while keeping the learning process enjoyable and personal. I focus on clear goals and adapt each lesson to match your pace, style, and interests. Whether you're learning open chords, power chords, or diving into fingerstyle playing, I’ll guide you step by step with patience and care. I place strong emphasis on ergonomic technique to ensure your playing is smooth, safe, and tension-free.

We’ll work on finger dexterity, rhythm training, and ear development through practical exercises and real songs. If you're someone who loves composing melodies, leading group sessions, or arranging music for meaningful settings, I’ll help you grow with confidence.

I support students in playing expressively, whether solo or in an ensemble. You’ll also learn how to listen deeply and make musical choices that feel authentic to you. My goal is to help you become not just a better guitarist, but a well-rounded musician. We’ll set realistic goals, track your progress, and celebrate growth along the way.

About the lesson

I’m a guitar tutor with over 8 years of experience and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, majoring in Guitar. I’m passionate about composing and arranging music for both solo guitar and ensemble settings, and I love helping others find their own voice through the instrument. My lessons are supportive, engaging, and always shaped around your personal goals. Whether you're a school student discovering your sound, a hobbyist returning to music, or a professional aiming for excellence, I tailor each session to suit your journey.

I specialize in scales, modes, songwriting, rhythm training, and stage performance. Technique and creativity go hand in hand in my approach. We’ll build strong fundamentals while exploring musical expression that’s unique to you. I’ve guided students from intermediate to advanced levels and supported those preparing for professional auditions, gigs, and recordings.

I also incorporate ear training and stylistic development so you can truly own your sound. Progress is steady, fun, and rewarding. If you're serious about elevating your guitar playing and musical thinking, I’m here to help.
