About Jorge

The methodology used with each student will depend on the student's personal objective, as well as the level of knowledge related to the desired content. Each student learns in a different way. Generally, I use some exercises and problems to check the skills in specific areas and, then, I outline some plans according to the student's objectives.

Currently, I use a board for explanations and resolutions of exercises through the webcam, and also links to websites with simulations and videos to understand the concepts.

I have already worked in a constructivist school, which aimed to teach Physics contents and concepts for life, creating projects and activities for everyday life and for society. I have also worked in more traditional schools, guiding the students and aiming at entering the most requested universities in São Paulo.

Today, I try to use as much of the technologies available for teaching as possible.

About the lesson

I graduated in Physics from USP 5 years ago with a lot of effort. During graduation, I worked in large traditional schools, focused on entrance exams, and also in schools focused on constructivism and critical scientific thinking to train a student with reflective postures both personally and socially. I always liked to have contact with students and to teach cool things of Physics.

I completed my master's degree in Science Teaching (with a focus on Physics) from USP, with a research and dissertation work on the virtual distance learning tools of an Astronomy course for teachers from all over Brazil.

Currently, I work as a professor of Physics and Mathematics (middle years) at a vanguard bilingual school in the country and I study my second postgraduate (this time, a specialization) in School Management, also from USP.

My goal in education is to demystify the idea that physics is something hard. For many, it is a trauma. Like any discipline, Physics has its particularities, but it can be learned by anyone. I've been on this path for more than 10 years and my worldview is very cool because of all the knowledge that Physics and life have provided me.
