About Yang
Hi! I'm Huanyi, a professional trumpet player and teacher with over seven years of teaching experience. I currently serve
as a Trumpet Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I am pursuing my Doctor of Musical Arts degree.
I studied at The Juilliard School and the University of Michigan and have performed professionally in symphony
orchestras, including principal and associate principal trumpet positions.
I enjoy working with students of all ages and levels, from young beginners to advanced and college-level players.
Whether you are just starting trumpet, preparing for an audition, or simply want to become a more confident and musical player, I'd love to help you reach your goals and enjoy the process!

My lessons are personalized, supportive, and goal-oriented. With over seven years of teaching experience, I work with
students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced and college-level trumpet players.
Every student is different, so I adjust each lesson to your individual needs. We can work on sound, breathing, articulation,
flexibility, range, endurance, technique, and musical expression. For advanced students, I also offer focused training in
orchestral excerpts, solo repertoire, auditions, competitions, and performance preparation.
Most importantly, I want students to understand why something works-not just what to practice. My goal is to help youbecome a more confident, independent musician while enjoying the process!
