About Jay

Hi there! I’m Jay, and I'm thrilled to be your guide to mastering the Korean language.

Seoul is home, but my experience is truly global. I am a native speaker of both Korean and English—a dual-language advantage that ensures crystal-clear explanations of even the most complex grammar.

My professional background is unique: I am a Korean Linguistics Major and bring highly adaptable global corporate experience. This unique blend allows me to offer lessons that are not only grammatically sound but also rich in cultural and real-world context, perfect for any learner, from students to global professionals.

I understand your journey perfectly, as I am currently learning Japanese myself :)

Outside of teaching, I am passionate about cinema, enjoying live performances, and deeply appreciating music, from classical to modern K-pop. My love for reading and creative writing enriches my lessons, bringing a dynamic and creative touch to our learning resources.

Let's start our conversation! I look forward to meeting you.

About the lesson

I thrive on teaching students of all ages and backgrounds, proving my highly adaptable approach. Whether you are a young learner, a mature professional, or fall anywhere in between, I am ready to guide you. I am highly proficient in developing tailored programs for every student, from complete beginners learning their first Hangeul to advanced learners seeking to refine conversational fluency.

My teaching philosophy is simple yet highly effective: fun, practical, and customized. We move beyond the limitations of a single textbook. Instead, I utilize a rich library of resources, including videos, audio clips, real-world examples, and dynamic activities, to make every session engaging. The goal is clear: to ensure you can confidently use Korean in real-life situations immediately after our lessons.
