About Maciej

Hello! My name is Maciej (Maciek), and I’m a 2nd-year Medical Student at Keele University, where I’m currently in the top 10% of my year. Before studying Medicine, I graduated with First-Class Honours in Biomedical Science from St George’s University and spent four years working in medical communications alongside major pharmaceutical companies, eventually progressing to Senior Account Executive.

My own journey into Medicine has not been straightforward. Having previously been unsuccessful in my medical school applications, I know first-hand how challenging, competitive and, at times, disheartening the process can be. I also understand that academic achievement is only one part of the process: once you have secured the grades, you still need to communicate your motivation convincingly, demonstrate your understanding of the profession and perform under pressure during the interview.

In my most recent application, I received offers from all four medical schools to which I applied: Kent and Medway, Sunderland, Lincoln and Keele. I would love to use the experience I have gained throughout my own journey to help you navigate the process with greater confidence.

Whether you are working on your personal statement or preparing for an interview, my aim is not simply to give you a list of model answers. Instead, I want to help you understand what medical schools are looking for, recognise your own strengths and experiences, and learn how to communicate them effectively. Having experienced both an unsuccessful and successful application, I hope to provide practical advice, honest feedback and the reassurance that I would have valued when I was applying myself.

About the lesson

Medical School Interview Preparation – 1 hour (£30)

Interview preparation is my main area of focus. Sessions are tailored to the medical schools you are applying to, including their interview format and the areas you would most benefit from developing. We can practise MMI stations, panel-style questions and common topics such as motivation for Medicine, ethics, NHS issues, communication, teamwork and professionalism.

Rather than teaching memorised model answers, I will help you develop practical frameworks for approaching unfamiliar questions and communicating your ideas clearly and confidently. Sessions will involve realistic interview questions and stations, followed by constructive feedback on both your content and delivery. Where useful, we can then revisit questions so you can immediately apply the feedback and improve your response.

Personal Statement Review & Consultation – £60

This includes one hour of independent review followed by a one-hour one-to-one consultation.

Before our session, you will send me your personal statement, which I will review in detail and prepare feedback on. I will look at the overall structure, content, reflection, clarity and how effectively you demonstrate your motivation and suitability for Medicine.

We will then spend an hour together going through my feedback, discussing any questions you have and identifying specific ways to strengthen your statement. My aim is not to rewrite your personal statement for you, but to help you understand how to improve it while keeping it authentic to your own experiences and voice.

Both services are designed to be personalised to your individual needs, and sessions can be booked individually depending on where you are in your application journey.
