About Baxter
I have my Associate's of Arts in English from SLCC, and I'm currently working on my Bachelor's at the U. I recently received my TESOL/TEFL certification, allowing me to teach English as a Second Language.
Prior to earning my Associate's, I served a two-year, proselytizing mission in New York City, where I mainly spoke Spanish. During that time, I taught English as a Second Language and studied aspects of Spanish and English to improve my in both languages.
More recently, I worked as a youth mentor for at-risk, neurodivergent teenagers (between 12 and 17 years) in a mental health facility. I've also held two different positions as a life skills coach for adults with disabilities, and processed intakes at a homeless shelter.
All of these experiences, combined with my academic career, have helped me develop a teaching style that is authoritative and responsive to my clients' needs.

I believe that meeting my client where they are is the best way to take them where they want to go. A first lesson with me looks like a lot of back and forth with you! I'll ask questions to get to know you, then use that information to cater lessons to your personality.
I do my best English Studies work with students from grades K-12, but I'm happy to tutor clients of any age on Creative Writing. I help students break down reading assignments, improve their spelling and grammar, master essay writing, and more!
