About Joanna
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Classical and Modern Greek Studies and a Master of Science in Southeast European Studies: Politics, History and Economics. Yet, while my academic experience has given me the useful skills of research, analysis and writing; my personal experience in tutoring and childcare has offered me the essential skills of patience, understanding and dependability. In combining all of the above, I try to inspire my students to use their creative capabilities as a means to excel, in turn making their experience all the more fruitful and rewarding.

In my experience tutoring and providing care for young children, I have found that the most important thing is fostering a personal connection. As a result, I always search for ways to incorporate alternative methods that exercise the student’s creative muscles and increase their self-confidence. Regardless of age or level — music, poetry and literature are some of the tools that I have utilised in order to enhance the teaching experience while, at the same time, supporting the student in their exploration of language, grammar, vocabulary and spoken conversation. In tandem with reaching the desired goals and objectives, I aim to offer meaningful hour or two-hour-long lessons that engage our critical thinking and emotional skills equally.
