About Laylah
Hi, I'm Laylah! I am a Biomedical Science graduate from King's College London with almost three years of tutoring experience teaching students from KS2 through to A Level.
Throughout my degree, Chemistry has remained a fundamental part of my studies, particularly in areas such as biochemistry, pharmacology and molecular biology. This has strengthened my understanding of both theoretical and applied Chemistry and allows me to explain difficult concepts in a clear and relatable way.
I pride myself on creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenging topics. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent examination results, but also to develop the confidence and analytical skills that will support them throughout their academic journey.

Chemistry is often seen as one of the most challenging subjects at GCSE and A Level because it requires both strong scientific understanding and problem-solving skills. My lessons focus on building these skills step by step so that students gain confidence in tackling unfamiliar questions independently.
Having improved my own A Level grades by two grades through effective revision strategies, I understand the importance of studying efficiently. I incorporate active recall, exam-style questions and regular practice throughout my lessons while ensuring students fully understand the underlying concepts rather than relying on memorisation alone. Particular attention is given to calculations, exam technique and applying knowledge across different areas of the specification.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are tailored to the student's individual needs and learning goals. Whether a student needs support with challenging topics, revision planning or exam preparation, I provide structured lessons designed to maximise both understanding and results.
