About Percy

I am a fully qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), a PGDE, and a BSc in Biological Science, with over 8 years of teaching experience supporting students from KS3 through to KS5. I specialise in Science and Biology, and I also teach Piano.

Over the past eight years, I have successfully helped students strengthen their understanding, improve their grades, and build genuine academic confidence. I understand the demands of the UK curriculum and examination boards, and I ensure that every lesson is purposeful, structured, and tailored to the individual learner.

In Science and Biology, I focus on:

Clear explanations of complex concepts

Strong foundational knowledge

Effective exam technique and application skills

Regular assessment and constructive feedback

For Piano, I emphasise:

Strong technical foundations

Musical understanding alongside practical skill

Steady, disciplined progress in an encouraging environment

Each lesson is 1 hour, professionally structured, and designed to maximise progress. Students can expect clear objectives, guided practice, and measurable improvement over time.

I work with:

KS3 students building core scientific foundations

GCSE students preparing for exams

A-Level students developing deeper biological understanding

Piano students (beginners to intermediate, children and adults)

About the lesson

I believe learning should be clear, structured, and confidence-building. In my science lessons, I break down complex topics into simple steps, use real-life examples, and focus strongly on exam technique so students feel prepared and capable. For GCSE and A-Level students, I place particular emphasis on past paper practice and mastering how to answer exam questions effectively.

My piano lessons focus on strong foundations — technique, rhythm, coordination, and musical understanding — while keeping learning enjoyable and encouraging steady progress.

Each lesson is 1 hour, well-structured, and tailored to the student’s needs. I teach:

KS3 (Years 7–9) – building strong foundations

GCSE (KS4) – exam-focused Science and Biology

A-Level (KS5) – in-depth Biology support

Piano – beginners to intermediate (children and adults welcome)

My goal is simple: to help students grow in confidence, improve their results, and genuinely understand what they’re learning.
