About Molly

I am a dedicated science tutor with a strong background in biology and over five years of experience teaching students in a one-on-one setting. My experience as a math tutor has given me a solid foundation in breaking down complex problems into clear, manageable steps—an approach I now apply to biology and related subjects.

I currently work in a laboratory setting, where I am involved in genetics and molecular biology workflows. This allows me to bring real-world context into my sessions and help students understand how the concepts they learn in class are applied in practice.

I pride myself on being patient, reliable, and highly organized. I create a structured learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are supported in building both their understanding and confidence. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to equip them with the skills and strategies they need to succeed independently.

I tailor each session to the individual student’s needs, ensuring that our time is focused, productive, and aligned with their academic goals.

About the lesson

I focus on helping students truly understand concepts by breaking them down into simple, intuitive explanations—often using analogies and real-world comparisons. My goal is to make challenging topics feel approachable and logical, rather than something students have to memorize.

With 5 years of experience as a math tutor, I bring a structured, problem-solving mindset to science subjects, helping students build strong foundations and confidence in their abilities. My teaching style is:

Analogy-driven learning
→ I regularly use relatable comparisons to simplify complex ideas (for example, comparing DNA replication to copying a recipe or enzymes to locks and keys)

Step-by-step problem solving (math-based approach)
→ My background in math tutoring helps me guide students through problems in a clear, logical way

Active learning
→ I ask students to explain concepts back to me to reinforce understanding

Adaptable and student-focused
→ I adjust my pace and explanations depending on each student’s learning style
