About Oliver

Hello there! My name is Oliver Norman, and I’m a LAMDA (BA Hons) trained actor, with 6 years professional experience in the industry.

My work includes *The Witcher* (Netflix), *A Spy Among Friends* (ITV) and the award-winning feature film *The Fallow Few*.

I have tutored children aged 9-18 for over 5 years, and take pride in making lessons something they’ll love, as well as something they can learn from. I also have many years experience as a communication skills coach, working with CEOs of 6 figure businesses and YouTubers with over 2 million subscribers.

Having trained at LAMDA for four years, I have a unique insight into what the school is looking for in young actors, whether you’re looking to knock your next exam out of the park, or indeed end up training at a drama school yourself!

About the lesson

At its heart, acting is fun. It can be hard to deliver a top-quality performance if you’re not feeling relaxed, confident and open to tackle anything. A running theme through all of my lessons is cultivating that sense of bravery and openness.

**Warm-up**

All lessons will start off with a warm-up, this will get you ready to throw yourself into the class, as well as building up over time the vocal strength and tools you need to capture an audience.

**The Lesson**

During the lessons we will be focusing on three areas:

1. Working on the language: A key area of acting is to have a deep understanding of the words you’re speaking and how to use them.
2. Building the character: No two people are the same, every speech is delivered in a unique set of circumstances by a unique individual. We will be diving into how to grow and embody these different parts.
3. Honing the performance: Being able to bring your A-game at any given moment is an art within itself. You will learn a variety of techniques of how to command a room, and stay relaxed while doing so.
