About Pushkar
Pushkar Ganesh Vaidya
Pushkar is one of the world’s leading scientists in the field of Astrobiology; the study of the origin, evolution and distribution of life in the universe. He is the head scientist of Indian Astrobiology Research Foundation.
He is in-charge of IARF Centre of Excellence for United Nations Global Goals and is the scientist-in-charge of the proposed space missions Bijayan and Bijayan Venus.
Pushkar is India’s leading scientist-science communicator. His main research interests are philosophy of astrobiology, consciousness, climate change, evolution, panspermia, search for extraterrestrial intelligence and terraforming.
Pushkar has delivered numerous lectures & workshops, authored several articles, courses & research papers; he is particularly well-known for his engaging conversation-style interactions and witty presentations.

As a Space Scientist who has conversed with the universe for over two decades, my teaching approach is conversational, engaging students in lively discussions that make the vast universe more relatable and understandable. By integrating real-world research and spotlighting business opportunities within the space sector, I aim to ignite and inspire a lifelong passion for space in all my students.
Each session is designed as a journey through different aspects of Life in Space, from the origins of life in the universe to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. Classes begin with a brief overview of key concepts, followed by in-depth exploration and interactive Q&A sessions, encouraging active participation and curiosity.
This unique course is designed for a wide range of learners—from school students fascinated by space, to college students and adults seeking to expand their knowledge of the universe or considering a career in the burgeoning space industry.
