About Yu
Hello! I’m Zhang Yu, a native Chinese teacher from China currently based in New Zealand. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from Wuhan University of Technology and am pursuing my Master’s degree in the same field. I currently teach diverse adult learners, including business professionals, executives, and university students. My teaching focuses on making Chinese practical and engaging: I use authentic materials (short videos, news clips, real conversation scripts) and a communicative approach to ensure you learn the natural, functional Chinese used in daily life and the workplace. I am skilled at guiding you to speak confidently and fluently. What I can help you with: Daily & workplace communication Pronunciation and tone training Speaking fluency and natural expression Business Chinese and HSK preparation (Levels 1–6) I will design a custom learning plan based on your individual goals and pace. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. With experience teaching adults and children in New Zealand, I focus on creating relaxed, engaging lessons that make learning Chinese enjoyable and effective.
