About Leslie
My name is Leslie and I'm a pianist with over 15 years experience. Raised playing classical repertoire, I have since learned and mastered jazz playing and musical theater rep (my Master's is in Music Direction for Theatre); in addition to piano I specialize in conducting and acting through song.

While my strongest ability will always be classical piano performance, I believe that, like any practice in life, being well rounded is essential in developing and perfecting one's craft. When playing piano rep I ask my students to breathe like a singer; in analyzing a musical phrase I invite my students to use descriptive words like "charming," "strong," or "adventurous" to evoke emotions and allow songs to come to life. In my opinion, though technique is essential, it is only the tip of the iceberg when performing piano, when singing, or in any art form.
