About Jordan
I am a Second Year Computer Science student at a top 10 UK university, and an incoming engineering analyst at the world's largest investment bank. Over the years, I have developed a strong passion and competence for computer programming and have had the chance to apply these skills in multiple projects and competitions, such as my university's first ever group coding competition, in which I finished first place.
When I started learning to code, I remember being frustrated a lot of the time by people over-complicating simple concepts and making them appear much more difficult than they actually were. I also wish I learnt earlier that programming is more than just typing commands in a text editor - most of it is how you think logically around a problem.
I want to relieve my students of this same frustration and make learning to code enjoyable, because that's what programming should be - fun! Through tutorials with me, you will not only up your coding skills in a language of your choice, but also explore a new way of thinking that will be beneficial and applicable to all areas of your life.

The best way to learn to program is to tackle problems yourself. My lessons always start with some questions to help me understand exactly where the pupil is at with their understanding of a topic, then I explain any misunderstood areas using applicable and relevant examples, including other important areas of that topic that should be known.
I ensure sessions are kept interactive to ensure maximum retention throughout. Pupils will be given tasks to consolidate their learning, which will be briefly recapped at the beginning of the next lesson.
Lessons can be 1 or 2 hours in length and are available to students of any age, with any amount of prior experience.
I have had years of ongoing tutoring experience, ranging from extra student support during my time at school and college, up to leadership and teaching positions in societies at university. As a result, I am comfortably able to work with different types of students and take all the time required to ensure pupils leave a lesson with better understanding!
