About Lavinia

I have given private classes in Romania during previous employment as a store assistant (10 months) and two courses - Human Resources / Film (1 year) to a total of 16 students - 12 were children aged 4 to 12, and 4 adults aged 25-32.

About the lesson

My name is Lavinia, I am a 27 years old Romanian. I studied England for 3 years as well as have worked there for a further 3 years after graduating. I am highly professional, responsible, dedicated and patient. I can teach both children and adults (including Business English). I can also help students prepare for proficiency exams such as Cambridge, IELTS, TOEFL iBT etc. I have obtained 104 TEFL iBT in 2009 (equivalent to a c1 level), before I have started my studies in England.

Methodology:

As a general rule, I prefer speaking almost exclusively, as much as possible, English with my students, as I find the most effective method, based on my experience and extensive research.

When it comes to children, I like to use experiments, activities and games as context for the information i am passing on to them.

In case the classes are for exam preparation, my methodology is more classical - grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. I do not find one to be more important than the other. If you are aiming for a good result, you ought to be able to write and speak correctly and fully understand and make yourself understood.

As for adult classes, the methodology is similar to exam preparation, but it can greatly vary based on each students needs and circumstances - some might need grammar lessons while others specific vocabulary.
