About Gavin

Who am I? I'm just like you. Normal people can become traders — I did.

I'm an everyday trader who has been involved in the markets for more than 9 years. I'm not a professional fund manager or a trading guru — I'm just someone who has spent a lot of time learning, experimenting, making mistakes and trying to understand what actually makes a trading approach sustainable.

I've traded different markets, strategies and platforms over the years, including both my own trading and prop-firm accounts. I've experienced the highs of good runs and the frustration of drawdowns, broken rules and strategies that looked great on paper but didn't work as expected.

That's really where the idea behind Hindsight Trader came from. Looking back at trades is easy — the challenge is using that hindsight to make better decisions next time.

I really enjoy talking about trading, analysing charts and discussing why trades work or don't work. After so many years of learning through experience, I've realised that I genuinely enjoy helping other people make sense of their own trading. Teaching also gives me the opportunity to share the lessons I've learned — including plenty of mistakes I'd rather not see someone else repeat!

I genuinely love what I do. Trading has become something I'm fascinated by rather than something that feels like work, and I've always believed that when you find something you enjoy doing, you shouldn't feel like you're working a day in your life.

Whether you're a complete beginner or already have some experience, I'll work with you on your trading rather than trying to sell you a magic strategy. My aim is to help you develop a better process, understand your mistakes, manage your risk and become a more disciplined trader.

I can help you navigate the many unknowns that come with learning to trade — from prop-firm challenges and trading platforms to risk management, trading rules, psychology and journalling. There is a lot to learn, and having someone who has already spent years working through those challenges can save you a lot of time, frustration and expensive mistakes.

I don't want lots of students. I'd rather work with a small number of people who are genuinely keen, patient and diligent. Trading isn't a shortcut to an easy lifestyle, but with the right mindset, process and discipline, it can become something you genuinely enjoy doing.

About the lesson

I offer practical 1-to-1 trading mentoring based on 9+ years of real-world experience as an everyday trader, helping traders from beginner through to intermediate level. I can help you review your strategy, improve risk management, understand your trading mistakes, develop discipline and become more consistent. No signals, hype or promises of easy profits — just honest, practical guidance from someone who has learned plenty of lessons the hard way.
