About Michael
Michael is an ambitious, passionate, innovative, modern guitarist who is kept busy by a wide array of musical projects, and his private students. Now based in Bristol, Michael is a graduate of both The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London, and dBs Bristol; which has made him lucky enough to have had instruction from some of Europe’s most renowned guitarists and musicians including: Martin Goulding, Tom Quayle, Dario Cortese, Phil Capone, Stuart Ryan, and Tolis Zavaliaris. Specialising in Blues and Modern Rock techniques Michael also has a wide array of influences from Classic Rock, Metal, Blues, Jazz and Soul, to more traditional Folk, Country, and Classical musicians. This allows him to play and teach in a number of different styles proficiently with a deep level of understanding. Michael has played, performed, and written for many bands and artists. Most notably his own group ‘InaCity’ recorded at SAE studios in London alongside the legendary Bass Player T.M Stevens.
Since graduating from DBS, Michael has been engaged teaching both privately and in schools around Bristol. Michael has years of experience teaching students anywhere from the age of six to eighty. Michael has also taught in conjunction with many well-known organisations in the South West, such as RedMusic and The Rock Project.

Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time, preparing for an open mic, or dreaming of studying music professionally, Michael provides friendly, expert tuition tailored to your goals.
Based in Bristol, Michael is a passionate, innovative guitarist and experienced teacher. A graduate of both the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London and dBs Bristol, he has studied with renowned musicians including Martin Goulding, Tom Quayle, Dario Cortese, Phil Capone, Stuart Ryan and Tolis Zavaliaris.
Specialising in Blues and Modern Rock, Michael draws inspiration from Classic Rock, Metal, Jazz, Soul, Folk, Country and Classical music. His broad experience allows him to teach a wide range of styles with genuine depth and understanding. He has performed, written and recorded with numerous artists, including his own band InaCity.
Michael has extensive teaching experience with students aged six to eighty, both privately and in schools across Bristol. He has worked with organisations including RedMusic and The Rock Project, and has completed Child Protection training and enhanced DBS checks. He also has experience supporting neurodivergent students.
Lessons are available throughout the year, with flexible options outside school terms.
Students receive detailed lesson materials, including PDFs, Guitar Pro files, audio exercises and recommended resources. Michael also offers access to his home studio for recording progress or creating performance videos, plus ongoing mentoring and support between lessons.
All that’s required is your guitar, plectrum, tuner and USB drive. With focused practice and guidance, Michael can help you turn your musical ambitions into reality.
