About Maya
I am currently a college student with a Minor in Japanese.
I returned from a 1.5yr volunteer experience in Japan, starting out at beginner level, and coming home advanced.
While living in Japan, I learned Japanese at a high rate through daily conversation with natives about daily life and complex subjects, as well as teaching them English. On my own time I would use my own resources and help from Japanese friends to fine-tune my skills and knowledge to improve my Japanese.
My goal is to help my students accomplish the same!

I will teach you basic Japanese skills, and lead into more advanced conversation ability. I will help students practice speaking and daily conversation with constructive feedback and study tips and tricks for the future. Students will be able to learn how to study Japanese on their own to keep their learning constant. We will cover:
- flashcards
- grammar principles
- native nuances and formality
- daily conversation
- reading comprehension and translation
- building sentences and stories in Japanese
- much more!
After each lesson, students will be taught how to adapt Japanese into their daily lives, and how to use and practice the principles learned in lessons!
