About Helene
**안녕하세요! Hi, everyone! I'm IM, your Korean tutor! **
I'm Taiwanese and have spent nearly four years living in South Korea, where I studied and worked in Korean-speaking environments.
I completed postgraduate studies in a sociology-related field, with all my classes conducted in Korean. I also worked for two years at a Korean company in Seoul, working with Korean, Japanese and Chinese as a translator.
Through my experience living, studying and working in Korea, I've developed a strong understanding of the Korean language, culture and everyday communication.
I've also helped students with TOPIK preparation and Korean language learning, using my own teaching materials, including customised PowerPoint presentations, vocabulary notes and Word documents.
Beyond language learning, I have a strong interest in Korean culture, humanities, philosophy, history, politics, literature and society. Whether you're interested in K-pop, K-dramas, Korean novels, webtoons or social issues, I'd love to help you explore Korean culture through language.
My goal is to help you understand not only **what to say in Korean, but also how and why people use it in real-life situations.**
Whether you're a complete beginner or already studying Korean, I'll tailor our lessons to your goals, level and learning pace. Let's make learning Korean practical, enjoyable and meaningful!

What Makes My Lessons Different?
1. Custom-Made Learning Materials
I create my own PowerPoint presentations, vocabulary notes and supplementary materials based on your needs. Each lesson is designed around your goals, current level and learning preferences.
2. Learn to Understand, Not Just Memorise
Instead of relying solely on rote memorisation, I help you understand the logic behind Korean grammar, vocabulary and sentence structures. By exploring different ways of understanding and remembering what you learn, you'll be able to build a stronger foundation and apply your knowledge more confidently.
3. Practical Korean for Real-Life Situations
Learn how Korean is actually used in everyday conversations, whether you're travelling, living in Korea, studying at a Korean university or simply chatting with Korean friends.
4. Support Beyond the Classroom
You can contact me with questions about what we've covered in class, so we can work through difficult points and reinforce your understanding.
5. Lessons Tailored to You
Everyone learns differently. I'll assess your current level and learning goals, then create a personalised study plan that suits your pace and interests.
Available lesson types:

**A Few Things to Know Before Booking**
As my lessons are based on individually prepared PowerPoint presentations and customised learning materials, I need some preparation time before each class.
Before booking a regular lesson, please **book a trial lesson first or send me a message describing your learning goals and the type of lessons you're looking for.**
After purchasing lessons, please get in touch with me so we can discuss your current level, learning objectives and preferred lesson format.
This will help me prepare suitable materials and design a learning plan that works best for you.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you on your Korean learning journey!
