About Kanako
Hi! I'm Kanako, a native Japanese speaker from Japan, currently living in Montreal, Canada.
Living abroad has helped me understand both the challenges and the excitement of learning a new language. Since moving to Canada, I've helped friends learn Japanese through conversation practice, pronunciation, and everyday expressions. These experiences have shown me how important it is to make lessons enjoyable, practical, and adapted to each learner's pace.
Whether you're learning Japanese for travel, work, anime, JLPT preparation, or simply for fun, I'll create lessons that match your goals and interests. I can explain grammar in English when needed and will help you build confidence in speaking naturally.
My lessons are friendly, patient, and interactive. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes because that's how real learning happens.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy photography, cafés, design, and exploring different cultures. I love sharing not only the Japanese language but also the customs, expressions, and cultural nuances that make it unique.
